Caversham Wildlife Park

Assalamualaikum

Teringat waktu pergi Caversham Wildlife Park located in Whiteman Park, Western Australia. To be exact, this wildlife park located partly from the Whiteman Park. So, make sure your kids were within your sight. Anyhow, Aussie sangat friendly and I love the sky! Haha. Yes. Dalam banyak-banyak benda, I love to snap the sky. With less cloud and superb lighting, the pictures can speak in so many wayyyys. Trust me, I love nature and it calms me the most. Nature makes you closes to Allah the Almighty and reminds you of every beautiful pieces on Earth. Okay, back to the topic.

Caversham wildlife park is privately owned and was operated by Western Australian families. We got to met Mr David Thorne, the owner of Caversham wildlife park. Of course, while typing this entry, we just knew that the person whom drove us to the park used to be an owner to this park. Bravo Mr David! Since this was the only zoo that we went, so we highly recommended the park. Bahaha. This uncle was super friendly and super nice since all the way from the Whiteman Park - Caversham, he was being very helpful and fyi, this uncle amazed us when he can speak Malay. I know, I know. His malay wasn't that good but at least, not everyone can spell TANDAS clearly, right? Mr David, you are awesome! No wonder this wildlife has become a great success in Western Australia. They opened the park back in 1980's and currently operating in the Whiteman Park. Since the CWP was privately owned, they didn't receive any funding from their government, so they'll surely treat you to the utmost. But if they didn't, don't blame me for giving such info's okay. Haha.

The admission fee per entry is AUD24/pax and for children is AUD10. If you had authorized WA pass or anything related to WA, you might get cheaper fees. We even tried to claimed for students price since we had a valid student card but hey, you're not in Malaysia. Bahaha. Bab nak mengelat memang pandai. First and foremost, there's an option to go here and we took the simplest route since we had no transport yet. Fret not, as WA is all about freeway and can be easily reachable with their public transport -TRANSPERTH- we took our first train at the Perth City and heading towards the Midland. The best thing is, you get to used the ticket for any bus, train and ferry under the Transperth brand. It's worth every penny since you can used it to the max! We hop off at Bassendean station after having funny conversation with the guards there - we happily stop at Midland station and thought that we finally arrived, yet we was wrong. Seriously, we just follow whatever direction given in the blog and somehow, we still lost. Haha. It shows that theories are not applicable sometime. You just have to follow your gut. From Bassendean, just wait for the free bus and if you got confused, do not hesitate to ask. They definitely will assist you, I hope. Please mention the CWP name once you stepped into the bus so that the driver could assist you better.

Say hello to whiteman!
Now you've arrived at your destination and what's the next step? As I've mentioned earlier, Whiteman Park was hugeeee and it is possible to walk towards your destination but, if you care for your foot, just give them a call and someone will pick you up. Nahhh, they dropped you off the bus to the doorstep of CWP. Next thing to do - spent your time with the animals and make sure it'll be part of your precious memories. Oh by the way, if you visit CWP during summer or end of spring, be ready to be a fighter! Haha. Too many flies and it's very very very annoying to have flies buzzing around you while snapping a pictures. Don't get me wrong after reading this and to be exact, the flies is all over Australia when it's summer time. Once you're in CWP, don't missed out their main attraction - Farm Show and Meet the Wombat & Friends where you can snap pictures without extra charges. During our visit to the farm show, the moo moo was poo poo in the middle of the show -.- Whatever it is, let the pictures do the talking. If you were planning to visit Perth soon, do visit Caversham Wildlife Park and you can meet numerous animals that represent Australia or maybe you can drop by here in Perth Zoo :)

So uncle David, thanks for the great assistance and friendliness that you've shown. If you are reading this or might possibly bump into this review, we wished that you were doing great with your family and your businesses too! You might want to polish your Malay so that you can attract more visitors. Hope you're grinning from ear to ear while reading this. We can even remembered that you gave us a joke on Mat Saleh and do visit Malaysia more often, it's the biggest Tahun Melawat Malaysia this year so bring your families too! :)

Plastic is obesity?

Assalamualaikum

At first, of course dalam kepala macam a bit confuse how come a plastic could cause you an obese? I left science stream few years ago, so pardon me for being so typical. The thing is, that's what we called technology. Don't you think a bottle just came out in shape after you added in the plastic? It went through many process to come out with one good bottle. What makes it stay in shape is the chemicals behind the product. Tapi, kalau plastik pun boleh jadi punca obesiti, I don't know how to handle this. If we noticed, almost everything - I mean a product packaging, mostly used a plastic and the communities also depends very much on the plastic. So memang agak susah for us to stop using a plastic. For scientist, this is your time to shine dengan mencipta something on organic basis.

Typically, orang selalu cakap numbers inside the triangle bawah botol -macam dalam gambar bawah ni- used to be a sign of how many times the plastic had been recycled tapi anda salah. I was in doubt at first tapi after dengar talk dalam radio and had some research, tanda itu bukan seperti yang anda fikir.

The number tells you the chemical used to make a plastic. Come to think of it, no wonder people around me selalu cakap this water tasted like a plastic. It's not a joke even though it sounds weird since you're drinking it directly from the bottle. Those chemicals can be easily absorbed into your food or drinks and wallah, your food is contaminated with chemicals!

Even my parent selalu marah and reminding us not to took and consume any food or drinks yang sudah exposed to heat for a long time sebab chemicals react on certain level of heat. As a precaution, kalau ada mineral bottle yang dah lama kepanasan dalam kereta, sila jangan guna and throw away. Tapi, janganlah buang sepah-sepah or campak merata. Buat amal dengan recycle balik. One small deed can lead into another.

I'm not a chemists or scientist, just wanna share a little bit information as a precaution. Actually, sekarang banyak manufacturer produce product based on BPA (bisphenol A) free sebab some of us did aware on this issue tapi don't get excited yet sebab BPA free pon still ada chemicals but it's more organic than those yang without BPA.

BPA Free for baby bottle (Google)

Please correct me if I'm wrong okay! Please look for more information and details if you want deeper understanding as what I wrote here may be conflicting with the real facts. Bahaha. I'm a student, never will and won't be a chemist since takde expertise dalam chemistry :( Instead of using plastic bottles, jom cari alternatives lain eh! Sekarang dah ada paper bag and biodegradable plastic, so let's used it to the fullest. Kita guna sampai lebam dan apply 3R (recycle, reuse, reduce) dalam daily life okay. Plastic harm both human and environment, so go for green, guys! :)

Bercuti ke Perth: Part 1

assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah. Lega rasanya sebab makanan kami selamat.

Just cross jalan dah sampai ke Harbour Town.

Jikalau anda berjalan seorang, dinasihatkan supaya tak pergi sini sebab agak sunyi.
Fresh fruit & veggie
Abingdon Miniature Village - Banyak miniature-miniature terdapat di sini. Kalau tengah spring memang lawa.

Bersambung episod seterusnya di Perth...di SINI! Jangan lupa follow travelogue kami. :)

Nak scholarship?

Assalamualaikum

Title macam nak bagi scholarship free je dekat semua. Haih. Hopefully, we succeed after the hectic struggle and managed to continue without repeating any paper -.-

Scholarship that I've been mentioning is MyBrain15 yang sangatlah popular among postgraduate students. Since postgraduate fees was quite expensive to most people, maka wujudlah program ni. FYI, the scholarship was applicable for postgraduate student only including Masters and above. If you're happened to be in such condition, make yourself happy by applying this. Need not to worry about contracts since what you have to do is sign up now and be a good students. There's no such thing of -you have to serves for government once you signed up for this- nak tahu kenapa? Mybrain supports only part of your education programme and the rest expenses haruslah ditanggung sendiri.

Procedure mybrain ni somehow quite troublesome tapi siapa nak bagi scholarship ikut suka kan? If you find this is troublesome, try for the other scholar application and you might changed your mind. Nevertheless, the-very-helpful-mybrain only exist till 2015. So, make yourself available for another 2 years including tahun ini for postgrad program if you're thinking of pursuing higher education. Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers this time as things like this won't happen everyday. So, go grab the chances by signing up today. First and foremost, you should be undertaking your masters or higher in order to be eligible to apply this. Application for any mybrain programme is opened throughout the year but trust me, the process took months before you can proudly (bangga ke?) said that you're mybrain scholars.

For masters, mybrain just cover your tuition fees up to RM10,000 and sadly, it's only restricted to local universities. So, siapa-siapa berangan nak further oversea sila teruskan pencarian scholarship anda okay. More info's about mybrain, sila browse to mybrain web. Herewith, I attached some details about Mybrain (sources from Mybrain).

  • A programme for financing postgraduate studies
  • Critical Agenda Project under the National Higher Education Strategic Plan.
  • Objective: To increase the number of highly knowledgeable human capitals for the purpose of enhancing research, development and innovation.
  • Target: To achieve 60,000 PhD holders among Malaysians by the year 2023.
  • Programmes offered:  MyMaster,  MyPhD and  Industrial PhD.

Don't worry about the requirement as you gone through the website sebab it is much easier than any other scholarship. Pray hard and have faith in your God that you gonna get this. Don't forget to drop your application here after reading this. Whatever it is, niat anda untuk further study haruslah baik dan bukan untuk negative purpose okay! Ehem. Allah will ease your burden and make ways for you, insha Allah.

ATCO aka Air Traffic Controller

Assalamualaikum

Kali ni bukan mama yang nak bercerita tapi anak mama. Haha. Nak harap mama je contribute kat blog ni, memang setahun baru dua entry je dapat -.- So, ended up anak mama pon nak menyibuk.

Back to topic asal, ATCO aka Air Traffic Controller. Basically, dekat Malaysia, super susah nak dengar anyone working as ATC. I've been 'GOOGLING' for ages information related to ATC tapi payah kemain nak jumpa. Or maybe, I am not good enough to play with Google. Once I heard about this position, things that came in my mind, sounds interesting tapi.....FIZIK! Apakah? Time secondary school, the worst subject ever is Physics and I can't stuck in Physics for the whole life. The story all started when......

I don't remember when was the last time I'm updating my SPA application and suddenly I received an SPA invitation for ATCO aka Pegawai Kawalan Trafik Udara. It may sounds gempak and me, myself was a bit reluctant to give it a try. But yeah, as a good daughter, I gave it a try and unexpectedly, I succeed. I wasn't doing any better for this, I mean, I don't give an effort at all. Tapi, bak kata orang, kalau memang rezeki anda takkan ke mana.

Public yang interested to join government and become part of civil servant are welcome to apply the job through SPA portal. Sila jangan malu-malu dan segan-segan. I thought everyone was aware with the existence of this portal and yes, I am wrong. Time kerja dengan private sector dulu, still ada orang yang tak sedar dengan SPA. Either SPA yang kurang promosi or public yang kurang awareness to this. Okay. Kembali ke topic asal. Once anda-anda semua sudah fill up online application, what to do next? Haruslah submit application and wait for the call. Okay. Sekarang SPA sangat efektif since they will text the applicant (this only work if you provide your mobile number in the application) and saying "Congrats! Pardon me if what you get wasn't similar with the one right here sebab sudah ingat-ingat lupa. Bahaha. Whatever it is, anda boleh check result kat portal SPA.

Untuk Peperiksaan Bertulis ATCO, things that you should know is anything related to aviation. General knowledge and simple mathematical problems haruslah di genggaman tangan anda sebab nak jadi public servant, anda kena tahu general knowledge mengenai Malaysia. Itu takpe lagi. Ada tiga set paper untuk dijawab if I'm not mistaken. Bahagian A untuk pengetahuan am, Bahagian B mathematic problem and IQ question and finally Bahagian C untuk soalan-soalan pemahaman English dan BM. Anda harus menjawab setiap bahagian within the time given. But, no worries. You're not going to answer all these 3 section all in one shot. Mereka tidaklah sekejam mana.

Every section ada break at least for 30min to an hour untuk anda semua lunch, pray dan melunaskan apa-apa yang patut. Scientific calculator is prohibited dan anda harus mencongak dengan super laju bila menghadap Bahagian B. Memang berpeluh-peluh-tak-senang-duduk-nak-mengira-tapi-jawapan-tak-dapat-dapat. HAHAHA.Memang gila okay. Bukan apa, mostly yang attend exam ini dari bermacam peringkat umur and some of them, sudah lama tinggalkan zaman sekolah. Memang time ni gelabah tak pandang kiri kanan. Dan macam biasa, akan ada orang yang submit awal or main-main pen or tidur. Jangan tertipu! Sila psiko kan otak anda yang mereka begitu kerana takde idea dah. *Positif.Positif* At least seat for ATC's exam, tak payah nak buat essay. Kalau tak, time ni lah kerut-kerut nak ingat idioms time SPM dulu.

My only advice, don't spend too much time on each question as the time is running fast. Masa sangat mencemburui anda okay! And, for your info, pengawas SPA sangat punctual when it comes to kutip your paper and no extra time provided. Maka, dari buat muka kesian baik cepat-cepat bulatkan aje jawapan. If you were really into the job, please please please study before you attend the exam. Chances are limited and it's not easy to go through the whole process and be part of it. Nasib anda baik, sebulan anda apply sudah dipanggil. Nasib anda buruk, berzaman la baru dipanggil. Please put an effort into this if you eagerly want the job. THERE ARE THOUSANDS APPLYING FOR THE POSITION AND ONLY SEVERAL WILL PASS THROUGH THE NEXT STAGE. The competition sangat stiff and muka-muka yang datang semua penuh semangat la kononnya :P

Things you might want to know before attend exam:

  1. Sila baca pasal airport Malaysia. To make it easier, please take a note on Malaysia's airport history.
  2. Please make sure anda tahu pasal aircraft aka airplane aka apa-apa sewaktu dengannya.
  3. Please be alert with any current issues, be it in Malaysia or any neighboring countries.
  5. Please make yourself knowledgeable with Malaysia's general knowledge.

PART II will be continued soon. In Shaa Allah.

Mama dah bersara!
